just a really nice story about the building of a house in Mexico....great interaction between the L.A. journalist and the builder.

A great way to learn about Mexican culture. A must read if you are planning on buying and/or building in Mexico. Although it was written in 1975(?), gringo homeowners continue to encounter the same difficulties today. Although the setbacks frustrate Smith no end, it is these same setbacks that also endear Mexico and its people to Smith.

I have re-read this book a number of times and continue to laugh out loud every time. A friend who is building a house in Baja assures me the trials and tribulations are accurate.
