Well-written story about "Bride" who was born to Sweetness. Lula Ann was extremely dark in color and Sweetness thought she would have a very hard time in life and raised her in a rough manner. Lula Ann gets older and becomes Bride, beautiful and moving up in the world.
Bride becomes involved with Booker and he changes her whole view of herself. Then he dumps her and she doesn't understand why.
Changes happen to Bride and we learn a lot about her. She is a fascinating woman.
