Interesting and pertinent book about the fate of third world women in the new global economy. This sociological book is made interesting by the many anecdotes interspersed throughout. "Nickel and Dimed" was also written by this author. If you're interested in how women in other cultures are faring today with their families and need to support them, then this book is a must. Many third world women don't see their children for several years as they're too busy working as a maid, cook or governess for some upper middle class or rich family here in the U.S. Authors go into how this effects us also.
