If you're looking for a deep educational book to learn about pregnancy, then this probably isn't your book. But, there are tons of those books out there on the market. This book provides a unique outlook on pregnancy addressing topics and offering advice that you would normally only be able to get from a close girlfriend. I loved my serious pregnancy books, but this book provided a cute unique viewpoint.

This book tells you like it really is!!! I enjoyed this one the most of all the pregnancy books I read when I was carrying because it talks more about all the awful stuff you have to deal with instead of just the joyful things. As a pregnant woman I often felt like I was the only one dealing with some of the things that happen to your body. This book is like a friend in your pocket. It is very funny also.

This was THE best pregnancy book. It was funny yet informative. I was overwhelmed and depressed reading What to Expect When You are Expecting. A friend gave me this book and it helped me to enjoy my pregnancy instead of being paranoid about every little thing.

This is a HORRIBLE book. Compeletely useless, borderline dangerous. At least to any woman who has any hope of having an enjoyable pregnancy, natural birth, or nursing their child. WRETCHED book!!

If you're not pregnant already, I wouldn't suggest reading this. It scared the hell out of me. The writing is approachable enough, but when the author started turning morning sickness into uncontrolled vomiting at the lunch table, I had to stop. This is more a humorous look at exaggerating every symptom of pregnancy there is. It's not informational, but as long as you know that before reading it, you should be alright.

This is a great book for any mom to be...highly recommend! I even recommend it for women who are already moms to get a great laugh! Some awesome tips/advice all with a touch of humor which most of us in the last stages of pregnancy definitely need!

This book is a must have for any pregnant woman! With a million and one pregnancy books on the market, this is the only one I've ever read that expressed complete honesty in "girlfriend" form!
I don't know how I made it through my first pregnancy without it!

A tad dated, especially the "fashion" chapter, but still relevant, since pregnancy and childbirth sure haven't changed in millions of years.

I like Iovine's chatty writing style and her tell-it-like-it-is way of explaining what is going on with your body during and after your pregnancy. She has four children, so she is, in my opinion, an authority on pregnancy for that alone! She makes you feel like you ARE one of her girlfriends (hence the title), and pulls no punches as she writes.

This book is HILARIOUS!!! I read this while i was still pregnant and I laughed so hard, i peed. Not Kidding. I have passed this along to all my pregnant friends and would love for the laughs to keep on going. Basic "what to expect"....from a mother's point of view. Not Medical.

I felt like a lot of it was along the lines of "I did this and nothing bad happened to me or my baby, so you can too!" LOVED this book. Vicki Iovine is a wonderful, funny, easy to read author. I have read quite a few of her books now and find they are so much more personal than most other pregnancy and parenting books. I now give this book at every baby shower!

This book was straightforward about some of the more embarrassing aspects of pregnancy that no one really wants to talk about, yet she put such a hilarious spin on it, that rather than making me feel uncomfortable, I was dying with laughter. It was very informative, and VERY amusing. I would recommend it highly to anyone who is, has been or is planning to become pregnant. I had a ton of pregnancy books, and this one was the most comforting and helpful, since she explains things in terms I can understand, and fills the whole book with humor. Highly recommended.

I read this while pregnant. Parts are very funny, but parts just fell flat -- I found myself thinking, "That's not me, and I don't know anyone like that!" It speaks to a certain segment of society with a somewhat smug tone. For instance, not everyone chooses to have a birth that involves a lot of optional medical intervention. Yet, the author assumes that all healthy normal births occur in the hospital, and all women of right mind want an epidural. It also assumes a specific type of marital rapport (i.e., your spouse just doesn't get it and never will). Maybe that's a hilarious fact of life, or maybe it's not true at all. In short, read it as an amusing look at how some women experience pregnancy. It may not be your cup of tea, or it may have you in stitches.

Hysterical. It's a good mood lifted after reading a ton of more medical type books on pregnancy. Real, an irreverent the author tells you like it is and you learn some refreshing truths that others may be too embarrassed to tell you. Recommend it to all preggers. An older version doesn't seem to matter much either since the book is largely experiential and not scientific.

This is set up as an easy to read month by month pregnancy guide. It's very reader-friendly and deals with some things too embarrassing to ask about, and things you never knew would happen. With a bit of humor and plenty of facts, it is a very helpful and informative book.

This is a great book! Every mom to be should read this. It is like one of your girlfriends giving you all the nitty gritty details you should know while you are pregnant. I really enjoyed this book and had some good laughs while reading it. Vicki Iovine gives a lighthearted approach as a pregnancy book. I would definitely still recommend "What to Expect When You are Expecting" as well.

If you are pregnant or have a friend who is pregnant, get this book!!

I have had many friends use and recommend this book to me. It is a basic 'sleep training" book for infants. I personally did not use its style, but I know many that have and swear by it.
