Another solid entry in the Millennium series. This is the second in the series by Lagercrantz who took over writing these after the death of Stieg Larsson. I thought the original series by Larsson was one of the best thriller series in recent years. After his death, I thought it was the end of the series but Lagercrantz continued where Larsson ended with THE GIRL IN THE SPIDER'S WEB. I recently read WEB and thought it was good although not quite up to Larsson's trilogy featuring Lisbeth Salander. EYE FOR AN EYE was a good followup to WEB. It starts out with Salander in prison for her role in saving an autistic boy in the last novel. She makes enemies with the prison villain, Benito, who has been terrorizing a young Islam woman. In the mean time, Salander's former guardian pays her a visit which piques Salander's interest in finding out more about what happened to her as a child. Of course Blomkvist, the Millennium editor gets involved which leads to a years old conspiracy involving illegal experimentation and study of childhood twins which Salander was a part of. The story mainly focuses on another set of twins in the study and sometimes I felt that Salander's role in the novel was somewhat limited. But overall, the compelling storyline kept the pages turning and I would recommend this one. Not sure when or if another book in the series will be released but when it happens, I'll be looking forward to reading it.

A fascinating MUST read, that continues Lizabeth Salander' quest for justice. As a grown twin who was abused as a child by her brutal father and unjustly removed from her mother she gets involved in the horrible results of other twins who were cruelly separated as infants to "assist in research". Journalist Blomquist and the other charaters from Larsson's Millinium trilogy continue to star in this intriguing and gripping mystery and quest for justice. Other themes, racial hatred, powerful manipulators, women's prisons, wealth, and the way these can be used and abused for nefarious ends. Mostly set in Sweden

I enjoyed this book very much but it was lacking the sparkle that Stieg Larsson gave to the Lisbeth Salander character. I know it's got to be hard to take over for an author who has died and I think David Lagercrantz should be commended for his attempt but I can only still wonder where Larsson would have taken his Salander character. I will continue to read the Millennium Series as I do enjoy Lagercrantz writing and the storyline was a good one. The research on the study of twins was very interesting and made the plot a lot more fascinating. The story got off to a slow start but midway and through to the ending the story took off and was a real page-turner. Can't wait for the next book in order to see what Lizbeth and Blomkvist are up to.

You kind of know a series has run out of ideas when a long lost twin sister appears.
Not even the seriously bad-ass Lisbeth Salander could save this story. To me, this felt like someone's laundry list of topics with a Millennium based story forced upon them. This novel did not measure up. The only thing saving it from less than 3 rating was a conclusion that was a surprise, some amount of suspense along the way, and of course our beloved hero Lisbeth. I don't know if the topics in this story were left pending in whatever notes Stieg Larsson left behind, or if they were introduced by Mr. Lagercrantz, but either way, they were not executed well in this story. Being a dedicated fan of Ms. Salander, i was compelled to complete the book. Otherwise, i probably would have moved on to something better, like Expanse #2 or Altered Carbon #2 :)

Following the Lisbeth Salander story you will need to read this book. Having enjoyed all in the series so far this one didn't necessarily disappoint but is missing that "something" that Larsson brought to each character.
This does continue right where the 4th on left off and continues to give insight into her new life as a free adult and having to face the consequences for your actions.
Lisbeth didn't seem to be the "main" character in this as she has been in the previous books still it is fast paced, engaging and satisfying.
