Leah is a total mess. She had traumatic experiences that have damaged her to point she has totally shut out everyone. As a librarian, she can avoid people so doesn't have friends or any kind of life. Won't open up to her mother or her shrink.

Story drags on thru too many chapters, to the point I almost quit reading. But I slogged thru to the end and was only slightly surprised by some of the twists. It wasn't a total waste of time but I doubt I will look for any other books written by Kathryn Croft.
