Lisa is bounced from place to place after arriving in London on a Kindertransport. She has her name changed and must learn English as well as go to school and learn how to be part of a family. The Blitz destroys her new home and when she awakes she is in a hospital with no recollection of who she is or how she came to be where she was located.
This book was a great insight to how children are impacted by war and how it reflects in everything they do as young adults and even further as they age.
