This is a contemporary romantic suspense novel, the first book in the Mirrors Don't Lie series. "Curvy girl romance" would be a sub-genre, I suppose, because Makenna is on the heavier side.

Makenna's best friend Kenzie is like a sister to her, in every way that counts. Their personalities are similar, they like similar things, they know each other so well they can even finish the other's thoughts. They even look the same. They would do anything for each other. When Kenzie is in a car accident that keeps her from completing an assignment as a photojournalist, threatening her job and her livelihood, she enlists Makenna's help. If Makenna could only borrow her ID and take her place on the plane, take the pictures, and come back without letting on that she wasn't Kenzie, her job would be saved. It sounded simple enough. What nobody anticipated was how a big, handsome Texas stranger and the Mob figured into the equation.

This is a good book, with characters you'll fall in love with and a plot that keeps the reader hooked from beginning to end. While it can be read as a standalone, it contains some minor cliffhangers, so be prepared to read the sequel when you finish it. While it has no actual sex scenes in it, it has some very sensual scenes that may offend certain individuals. It contains no harsh cursing, with about 15 instances of mild foul language. Four stars.
