Discover adventure with Griffin King, an English duke, and his cohorts as they travel to New York to rescue their friend, Jasper, from being arrested for murder. Suspected of killing a man in San Francisco, he is, in reality, taking respon!sibility to protect Mei, a woman he loves. Romance blooms between Finley and Griffin, too, intensifying even as the group works to outwit a criminal, blackmailing Jasper to get a machine for his criminal operations. Jasper had stolen the machine from the criminal, taken it apart and stashed pieces in various places. He says he will kill Mei if he doesn't get it. She wears a clockwork collar that can be tightened if she tries to escape or the collar is touched by anyone, killing her.

Griffin, Finley, and the rest of the crew scheme to rescue Jasper. From the rough streets of lower Manhattan to elegant Fifth Avenue, the crew follows Jasper's elusive trail. At the same time a lawman from San Francisco is likewise ooking for him. Meanwhile, Finley's dark magic may be a problem. Will she remain true to her English friends or bond with the gang? Finley is certain of her love for Griffin and joins the gang to work from the inside but Griffin is not so convinced of her loyalty.
