What the book blurb says: One night, when he should be safe in be, young James and his friend Mildred make a visit to fairy-tale land - where Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty are middle aged gossips; Belle's husband the Beast spends his days hunting; and Jack the Giant Killer and Jack of the Beanstalk are retired. But there is adventure coming - one fierce man-eating giant sill lives. And to spare his friend Princess Dulcibel from having to marry a toad, james must steal something from the dreaded giant's bone-strewn lair.

What I say: An unusual book. Adults will find it intriguing and children will resound to James adventures.
