Little eyes and ears are powerful. What they see and hear at an early age can deeply afect their entire lives. "Give me a child until he is five years old," it has been said, "and I will have directed his life forever." This statement is true. How important it is, then to fill little minds with life-changing thoughts.
And what can be more important for a child's life than to know God's laws of right and wrong, and the instructions of Jesus about how to please God as told to us in the Sermon on the Mount?
These great truths are here broken into tasty, bite-sized morsels that a very young child can grasp and grow on. Kathryn Shoemaker's wonderful full-color pictures illustrate and enforce these deep truths.
Each page has a little prayer and a Bible verse. Young children can memorize quite easily, so I encourage you to help your child learn these verses. Picture books are soon outgrown, but Bible verses memorized in childhood last for a lifetime.

We enjoy reading this book for morning devotions and the drawings/art in the book is well-done and colorful. A big drawback for me however is the version chosen for the Bible verse at the bottom; it is typically not one that I would use to memorize (or read for that matter) with my children.
