Morganville isn't the same since Ada and the computer system failed. Claire and Myrnin have been trying to fix the problem. But Claire gets herself into trouble.

Eve attends a party in an abandoned warehouse and she's in danger. Claire, Shane, and Michael run to her rescue. A fight ensues between the vampires and the locals, and Claire ends up killing a vampire. According to town law, the punishment for killing a vampire is death.

Amelie gives her a choice: settle the town's problem or hang in a cage in the town square. Claire chooses to fix the problem. She can't rest until it's solved - she completes the device.

However, in the days to follow, she realizes that something is drastically wrong when people begin losing chunks of their memory. The town becomes deadly once again - even in the daytime. Claire doesn't know what she can do, but she realizes it's up to her to fix the machine before it's too late.

GHOST TOWN delivers another amazing installment of this dangerous, action-packed series about loyalty, friendship, and love.

WOW~!

I really really enjoyed this book.
After having read and loved the first book, then read and hated the 2nd book, I thought I had givin up this series for good. Im glad i gave this author a second chance, because Ghost Town has completely restored my enjoyment for this series. I had enough backround information on the characters and the basic plot line to where i never felt lost in what was going on, and who was who. Myrnin was a new character to me, but it was easy to place him in the midst of the chaos. Anyone who picks up Ghost Town should be able to read it with no problem if they skipped a few of the books in the series. I think for me, one of the main reasons I liked this book so much more than the others id read in the series, was because this story line did NOT drag. (thank heavens) The characters have grown up a little, and somewhat over their puppy dog eyes romance. Have no fear moms and dads, this book is still PG-13. No sex scenes, but it was action packed which i really appreciated. I can honestly say that im looking forward to the next installment.

Morganville becomes a literal Ghost Town in the fact that Myrnins barrier machine has gone haywire, and the residents and vampires are wondering around the town with severe memory loss. It is up to Claire to put a stop to the madness, before she looses her memory too. will she succeed? You have to read it to find out!
*******and as always, theres a major cliffhanger at the end!**********

This 9th book in the series is full of so many things beginning with failure of the computer's security allowing everyone to come and go at will from Morganville. Myrnin's attempts to fix fail and everyone starts losing their memories. Claire is desperate to fix as Shane no longer remembers her; Michael forgets he's a vampire & sets himself on fire when he walks out in the sunlight. Shane's dad, Frank Collins, saves his son's life with grenade; Amelie and Oliver lock heads and fight for position of top vampire in town; so much action and so much heartbreak for everyone living in the Glass House. Great book and keeps the story moving forward.

Once again I'm going to say this is the best book in the series. The danger and craziness keep escalating, while the relationship between Claire, Shane, Eve and Michael keeps growing. These "kids" have definitely grown up. They are no longer teens and fit squarely in the adult category. Even Claire who is 17 1/2 is an adult. There just isn't anyway you can experience the absolutely insanity in Morganville and still be considered a child.

Anyway, Claire is in serious trouble in this one. Yeah, I know....she's always in trouble but here Amelie actually tortures her. Not in an effort to kill her (at least I don't think so) but in the best interest of the town. Well think about it, if you lock a mad scientist in a room and tell him he can't come out until a certain project is completed, what exactly do you get out of that project? At some point your brain will stop functioning properly and you will do whatever is necessary to get out of that room. Well this is exactly what happens in Morganville, Myrnin (crazy to start with) and Claire need to fix the computer system that holds everyone inside Morganville and erases the memories of anyone authorized to leave town. When people start acting weird and forgetting who they are, Claire realizes something is terribly wrong with the machine. Unfortunately Myrnin is one of the affected and won't let Claire back into the lab to fix the computer. This is a struggle to the death for some of them and pure torture for others.

I truly could not put this book down as the action never let up. It's always one crazy thing after another in Morganville but this really rocked the boat.
