It was a good, quick read. I am not an avid mystery or suspense novel reader, so I do not have a large reference to compare to, however, it was interesting and the end was a bit of a surprise. Robert Harris, the author is english, so the speech and tone was english, which I think added to keeping the book interesting for me. The book would have been better if it was longer and perhaps more detailed, there was a bit more story there to tell. Mr. Harris could have made the characters more complex.

Great book, not what I expected at all, which made the ending a prize.

At it's core it's about a politician hiring a ghost writer to pen his memoirs. Except there are some complications with dates and who was present when. Complications that end in murder.

It's a fascinating look at ghost writing and at the British relationship with the CIA.

Robert Harris is a great writer when it comes to intrigue, and not shy about surprising the reader.
