Looks like i'll have to be the first to say it.
This book is really terrible. I love the Aisling Grey series. I laughed out loud at those books. This book is like those books gawky younger sister trying way too hard.
I realize that suspension of disbelief is part and parcel of reading this genre of books but this strains credulity. I found the characters to be trite and two dimensional. The names alone were enough to put me off. A bad guy is named Spider. Seriously. I felt like she should have named him "Hilter McGenghisKahn"
And the universe that the book exists in. Woo. I thought the Aisling one was complicated. This one was both complicated and dull.
In short, don't read this book.

kind of a modernday version of "CLUE" everyone is stuck in a haunted ghostly house trying to figure out who the murderer is. Everyone is a suspect. Including the poltergeist!

Did not enjoy this as much as her other books written under Katie MacAlister. Still good in a quirky sort of way.

great first book in what I hope is a series! Very complicated story line, but she does a great job in explaining the "otherworld" around which the storyline is built. I found the characters very well developed and the minor characters highly amusing (imps and gay ghosts who are gourmet cooks. I read straight through! Enjoy.

Normally I'm not a big fan of mysteries, but I love Katie MacAlister's Otherworld novels, and this is the first book in her new mystery series written under the name Kate Marsh. I love this author because she is laugh-out-loud funny and because the people/characters/creatures in her Otherworld are so interesting. She creates this whole culture behind them which is fascinating to me. It's a great escapist world when you're feeling overwhelmed by this one. Very light and fun.

Had expected more from this author. However ,the book was good. Nothing seemed to click for me.

A veritable extraterrestrial stew - imps, pixies, domovoi (Russian house slaves), dada (vegetable spirits), poltergeists ("humans" with 2-4 arms) and even foster kids (yikes!).
A little bit of everything including a sarcastic heroine, Karma Marx. Kind of an extraterrestrial ghostbuster with a pedophile for a soon to be ex husband. All hell breaks loose when Karma is required to "clean out" a haunted house - remove the extraterrestrials. Then someone is murdered in the house and everyone inside is under suspicion.
A great start to a new trilogy. Can't wait to read book 2

good mystery, hard to figure out, and I did not!

I loved this book. It's a creative, funny and smart mystery with a lot of heart. I recommend it!
Cute, funny. I'd read another in the series if she writes one.
So, Karma is a half human house "cleaner" (she exorcises haunted homes) who agrees to "clean" one last home in exchange for a divorce. Spider (nice name huh?) won't contest it. There are imps, domovoi, poltergeists (or polter).
I admit to a little confusion at the start, with all the terms. Everything is gradually explained however. This was a nice mystery and I didn't see the ending coming (although I should have- there were clues that I didn't pay attention to). I enjoyed the characters and the interactions. They were snarky and fun. Pixie AKA Desdemona AKA Obsidian Angel AKA Morbent Vixen (and it continues) was an interesting character and I was glad there were answers in regards to her background. Spider (an asshole, and a plain rotten human being) got what he deserved and another character does too!
I did still have a few questions about the Akashic league and wergeld, but oh well. This was a fun read! This looks to be the only book, but could have worked as a series I think.
