Originally issued as one of the monthly series books back in the day, this cover is a reissue. Story is so funny! This was the first book I ever read from J.Crusie and influenced me to buy more of her books. The main characters are as stumbling and confused and yet manage to find each other. I love the dogs too:) Early effort from a talented writer, worth reading.

This is without a doubt the funniest book I've ever read. I laughed until I cried! A definite keeper!

I got this book and started laughing in about 4 pages. I can truly say that the book is one of the most funny ones I have read. The HERO- bless his heart- is a hardened cop of many years on the force and he is TOAST. The heroine is truly like some people that I have met- she is here ---but she isn't on the same page as the rest of us. BUT- the journey of these 2 wonderful, complicated, confused, lonely people into a couple is the journey that "Murphy's Law" couldn't have done. She- little 105# lady- gives him a concussion, busts his lip- calls the law on him--- I am laughing so hard now---You have to read it.

Enjoy- I give this on scale of 1 to 10. a 500!!!

A super fun read. You can definately see where Crusie is going with this book, toward her later, suspense filled books.

This book was ultra lite and funny, but a bit too unbelievable to me. I still enjoyed it though and it was a nice quick read.

The book was cute. Anything Jen Crusie writes is always cute! Not as "spicy" as her later books. Not alot of story depth either as in some of her other later books, but this is definitely worth reading to pass a summer day at the beach!

She got betterover the year as she kept writing, and as this is one of her earlier books, you can see how that writing developed in comparison to her later work.

Enjoy!!

Anyone that likes light comedy, mixed with suspense and romance, will love this book. It has a cast of characters including the heroine, her sister, the hero/cop, his partner, the ex-husband, the dogs, and many others that stand out with distinct personalities and wittiness. The book is similar in feel to the Stephanie Plum/Janet Evanovich book series, except with more character development because the entire change for the characters takes place in one book rather than a series. Recommended, light/fun read. As the other reviewers indicated, the first chapter or two are the weakest, then picks up pace and romance quotient.

The only thing I would say about this hardcover edition - skip the author's note at the beginning until after you had read the book, as it intrudes the author's personal life into the plot.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The writing is light, the characters well thought out and the storyline catches you early in the book and holds you until the end. I found myself rooting for the two main characters. As with all Jennifer Crusie's books that I've read, I highly recommmend.

This book was rousing fun. I enjoyed every single word of it, and was really disappointed it had to end. Crusie is a genius with light-hearted, fun romantic comedy. I haven't found anyone who does it better, and "Getting Rid of Bradley" is one of my favorites (so far!). Take it to the beach, to the cabin, or sneak it into the basement when everyone else is asleep--anywhere you won't be interupted--because you won't want to put this one down until the end.
