This book was touching. The story is short and it's an easy read. I really liked it.

Willa Jo tells the story of her family's recent loss as she sits on her Aunt Patty's roof with her little sister and refuses to come down. "Getting Near to Baby" is a heart-touching easy read told through the eyes of a twelve year old as she comes to terms with the loss of her baby sister.

Excellent, gripping story about a small southern family's life after the death of Baby, Mom's youngest. Told from the pov of approximately a 13-year-old, closely shadowed by her 7 yo sister who has not been able to speak for greif since Baby's death.
