Great book. I love books about Southern women. Set in Six Points Alabama. Georgia is a beautiful faithful churchgoer who has local gentlemen come over for their entertainment, one for each night of the week except Mondays. The local pastor visits Saturday nights. He wants to confess to the congregation and Georgia scrambles to stop this. A very entertaining book. Look forward to reading other novels of Mark Childress.

Thought this would be a better book. Think the description gives it more hype than it had. A quick read though.

First of all, you have to love her name - Georgia Bottoms. She is a woman who is trying to hang on to life in the south. She attends church every week. She hosts functions in her home. She doesn't want to admit they have no family money left. She is trying to take care of her mother and her brother, who has a drinking problem. She has made the garage into an artist studio, where people thinks she works on quilts. She doesn't; she has been purchasing them for years and has never SAID they are her creations. People made the assumption and she never denied it. Instead she uses the space to entertain her special men friends, 6 different men, 6 different nights in the week. Every gal deserves a night off, after all. They all leave her gifts and she makes sure each night is geared totally towards them and their needs. The characters are all wonderfully written. Surprise ending!
Love the book. At times horrified but couldn't stop reading to see what happened. Highly recommend for a fun read.
Here is a story that is full of great humor. Georgia Bottoms is a great character. I loved her from the get-go.
Good behaving, church going, southern belle saves local marriages by sleeping with the local men. Everything was peachy in Georgia's world till she is almost outed in the middle of church by the preacher! Loved the characters and watching Georgia get out of trouble.
