What a charming, well-written story of a (fairly) unsung hero. I've read his story before but this version gave more information about the man's strong belief in God and how it led him through life. It's nice to see there were ecologists in America before the term was coined. What I liked about this story was Carver's constant teaching the best of what he knew to everyone open to new ideas. Those farmers with poor soils were able to renourish their lands by following Carver's proven theories. It's good to see someone kind and caring being acknowledged.
