Professor Beth Austin is an expert on nineteenth century novels and a born sleuth. But taking along George Eliot's "Middlemarch" on her Hawaiian vacation was pure serendipity.

If you're in the mood for a mystery and love the nineteenth century you may enjoy this book. Otherwise you'll be turning a lot of pages trying to find out whodunit, like I did.

1st book I read by this writer. A sort of academic mystery except the Professor helps solve the murder on vacation. I enjoyed it and am seeking more work by this writer.

solving mysteries through the echoes of literature-the perfect job for an English Professor! Set in Hawwaii. Very well-crafted mystery-second in a series.
