This story is about a screen queen whom decides to have her story told, no holds barred. She knows many secrets however that many wish would not be brought to light including ex husbands, ex lovers, current lovers and so-called friends. Everyone scrambles to find out if their truths will be told and attempt in some form or another, to silence them. She selects Julia to tell her story and brings her and her 10 year old son out to California to be able to accomplish that.
This is so far one of the most boring Nora Roberts books, ever. It was OK but it seriously was a PUSH to get through it, and usually I simply just fly through her novels. The characters are very flat and uninvolved. I was able to guess whodunit way before the act was even done, as well as guess some of the plot twists. The book was fun for the trip to Hollywood-land but besides that it was a LONG book (528 pages) that really would have been better off slimmed down. Lots ado about nothing which leads to boring repeat events (how many times can Julia's house get broken into) and pointless happenings.

This book was a real treat! I've read more than 30 of Nora Roberts' books and this one is my favorite thus far. It had just the right combination of intrigue, mystery, suspense and love. The characters were varied- so many different personalities represented - and the overall story kept me guessing right until the end. I loved the way the story revealed some shockers along the way, too. An excellent read!
