An interesting book which provides printed proof---from Washington's letters---of his grasp of military strategy, politics, and power. Those who criticize Washington today forget that it is to him they owe their right to do so. Without Washington, the Revolutionary War might have had a much different ending.

Although a short book---only 87 pages---those who are not dedicated to learning more about Washington will find some difficulty reading his letters and even the author's text. Washington wrote in the style of his time, with long, run-on sentences. And because he didn't wish to offend Congress, he often danced around a topic instead of addressing it head on. Even I found myself just scanning or skipping text to get to the gist of what he was writing about.
