One of the many Xanth novels, with all the puns and wordplay to be expected of the series. This one follows Gary Gar, a gargoyle who's taken human form.

A gargoyle is sent on a quest to try to find a way to reverse the pollution damage in one of Xanth's rivers. This is once again the typical Anthony Xanth formula, but if you love it, you'll still love it. Some of the overlooked bit characters from the early days of the series get some time here. It's worth a shot.

It was pleasant to see some of the older Xanth characters again. Another cute and pun-laden tale to take you away from Drear Mundania.

A New Xanth Adventure! Join Gary Gar, a guileless young gargoyle disguised as a human, on a perilous pilgrimage in pursuit of a philter to rescue the magical Land of Xanth from an ancient evil.

I love all of his Xanth books. They're innocent but fun.

I'll be honest, I love the Xanth series, but this is where the series jumped the shark for me. It's not a bad book, and not the worst in the series by any means, but it seems like the sole purpose of this book was to "explain" the continuity errors in the previous novels, and the plot gets bogged down in explanations that, honestly, are hard to follow. There are some good novels that follow this one, like "Yon Ill Wind" and "The Dastard," but this is the first Xanth novel that I really did not enjoy reading.

The page no. is listed wrong for this book. It actually has 320 pages. This is an ex-library book.
