150-page paperback with chapters on what to plant, how to lay out the garden, organic preparation of the soil, planting and tending.

The benefits of gardening with children and grandchildren are legendary - it teaches them math, science, coordination, patience, earth science and a love for the earth.

Karlin's book is about gardening with her children but applies to anyone who would like to give children the gift of gardening.

Plenty of photographs, good descriptions, diagrams and basic teaching tools. Also includes: Methods for starting seeds, insect control and companion planting.

Theme garden suggestions, such as the Pizza and Mexican Garden include recipes.
