Not as informatively written as her other time travels. If you haven't read about his brother first, you really won't know what was going on. And, as it says on the back, Patrick is the first to discover the portals, but his is NOT the first story written. It was good, but needed more of its own background. I HIGHLY suggest reading "A Dance Through Time" first. This book really is at it's best if you read Jamie's story first.

OH MY GOSH, I loved this book so much that I am missing it already! It has been a while since I read a romance novel that was able to introduce new things that I've not read before or could predict. I LOVED this book and I am a new fan! I never thought to find a book that could hold a candle to "A Knight in Shining Armor", but it has happened! My life is complete .. This is a MUST read if you read to escape!

Attorney Madelyn Phillips has dreamed about a trip to Scotland for years; unfortunately, things haven't turned out exactly as planned. She was supposed to honeymoon in the Scottish Highlands with her new husband, Bentley Taylor III. That was before Bentley dumped her just weeks prior to their wedding, stole her clients and her money, and got her fired. Livid, Madelyn takes the trip anyway.
Upon arriving at a small highland inn, Madelyn learns that Bentley has shown up and taken her reservation. He says he's had second thoughts and wants them to share this trip together. Feeling sorry for poor Madelyn, the innkeeper lets her stay in a small unused room.

Another great story from Lynn Kurland. Patrick MacLeod and Madelyn Phillips are two intense characters that carry the story through all its time travel marvelousness.

Wonderful story, with Kurland's enchanting characterizations and attention to detail. It's very easy to fall in love with the hero and to feel a sisterly affection for the heroine (and maybe just a wee bit envy, too!).

This book took me some time to get into the read of it but, I found it enjoyable with some laughter in parts; good for a rainy day of reading.
Madelyn Phillips and Patrick MacLeod's story combines time travel. intrigue, mystery, and humor with a very sweet romance. Although some times I felt very frustrated with Madelyn's mild ineffective responses to the antics of her former fiance,( bad guy Bently), this book kept me very interested from start to finish. For those of you who like your romance novels more G rated, this is a winner.

This is Patrick MacLeod's story. Patrick MacLeod being Jamie's brother (from Dance Through Time) and also born in medieval times, of course. He was hardened by an unfaithful wife, long before she died and made him a young widower. He's not ready to trust his heart to anyone, least of all a Yank! And Madelyn doesn't quite know what to think of Patrick's combination of ruthlessness and laid-back nonchallance... of his passionate kisses and quiet reserve. Then destiny sweeps them back several centuries.
I like the way Lynn weaves echos of a past that hasn't happened yet with the present. It's a good time-travel story, with a few ghosts thrown in a secondary characters, although they don't affect the plot much at all. But I love it for the emotion you get to experience as Patrick and Madelyn fall in love.
