THE FORTUNE HUNTRESS
It was a stroke of luck that lovely Catherine Forsythe and her stunning sister, Susannah, were invited to a month-long house party on the state of the Duke of Carlisle. It was their golden chance to snare spouses who would rescue them from poverty, and Catherine meant to make the most of it.

At fist the estate seemed the happiest of hunting grounds, abounding with titles and wealth. But Catherine's plans began to go awry when Susannah fell under the romantic spell of the most unsuitable of suitors, a gentleman with only love to give. Then Catherine's designs threatened to come completely undone in the arms of a man who was everything except a gentleman. For the handsome, hot-blooded Stephen Archibald claimed neither riches nor rank, as he offered Catherine nothing but scandal - and joy beyond her wildest dream.

Reading a Candice Hern story is like reading a fairy tale. However, somewhere as you get absorbed in the tale she pulls you into a deeper discussion with the H/H. You then find out their fears, disappointments, and wishes for the future. In this case both the H/H fight to protect themselves from all of the above. Just when you get bogged down in the negative, Ms. Hern pulls you back to the 'happily ever after' of a Cinderella story. I love reading her stories.
