Sweet story of true love - the true definition of "good times and bad, in sickness and in health". G.I. Joe had lived through hell during the war and his nightmares were common reminders. But Lillie stuck with him through it all. Their love was genuine and it shined through in this book written by their son, Joe Bonsall, a member of the Oak Ridge Boys.

I ordered this book because I saw the Oak Ridge boys song on You Tube. This is a really good story and reminded me over and over why WWII veterans are called "The Greatest Generation." It is amazing what they went through for freedom's sake. I did think the story was poorly written and at times is so scattered I almost lost interest. It's not that it is not a great story, just that the writting is done poorly. Great chapter at the end about Arlington National Cemetry with some really interesting information.
