So, I think if you know going in that this is in the "beloved romances" category rather than the "exciting novels" one and that it was originally published in 1993, you can enjoy it. Navy SEALs it's not, but there is a heroine you'll love once you get past the "Victorian" part and a secondary story that moved me to tears. If you're looking for a small town love story, this is a good one.

A quick read but good love story.

Okay, I read the reviews, but held out that the story would still be great as Brockman wrote it. It was definitely not my type of story. I like a romance story, but I need a "story." And this book did not.

I really enjoyed this sweet little book! It's a definite change of pace from Suzanne Brockmann's usual great hero stories, but it was a fun, quick read, and I even got teary - I'm a total sucker for true love and childbirth. The guy on the cover's not bad, either!
Sorry, Suzanne, but did you write this book in your sleep? I am used to the action-packed romance/thrillers that you usually write & I can't believe I spent money to actually BUY this book!?! Without a doubt, the most boring, inane, & just plain awful thing you've ever written. I am soooo disappointed.
This is a quick read but very enjoyable. Well written but the story is shorter than what I would have liked.
