I was curious if y'all can suggest maybe an author of Christian Fiction with a humerous twist (I previously ejoyed authors likeJanet Evanovich, etc.)  I am hopeful that maybe a funny christian story may cheer me up :)

I love a good Christian Fiction comedy book myself. :)

Off the top of my head: Erynn Mangum, Trish Perry, and Judy Baer are really funny Christian writers.  I'll probably list more when I think of them later. Good luck finding something!

The "Sisterchick" series is really funny!  I think the author is Robin Jones Gunn. 

I heard Sandra Byrd writes humorous novels. I have one on my WL right now as a matter of fact. I'm wanting to read her for that very reason. :)

From a more male perspective, you should try the book "Welcome To Fred".  Brad Whittington is a very humorous writer.  If you like this book, there are three in the series.

Cathy Marie Hake has some funny and engaging characters. I really liked the girl in Letter Perfect, but she certainly was funny!

And the premise for Fancy Pants sounds just as amusing!

I fell in love with Siri L. Mitchell - particularly The Cubicle Next Door.  Also, Tamera Leigh (Stealing Aida) and Rene Gutteridge (My Life as a Doormat).

I liked "The Cubicle Next Door" by Siri L. Mitchell too.

Also the SAHM I Am series by Meredith Efken (SAHM I Am, @ Home for the Holidays, and Play It Again SAHM).

And Trish Perry's books The Guy I'm Not Dating, Too Good to Be True, and Beach House.

Debbie Macomber writes some really good ones. Not belly laughter funny but fun light reads that make you feel good after. I have to thank you for  this thread as it's helped me find some new authors to :) 'Thanks"

I really like Kristin Billerbeck. She writes chic lit books with good humor. I don't have any of her books on my bookshelf but I recently read "What a girl wants" and the follow up "She's out of control" and enjoyed it.

I have been reading (when I can get my hands on one of them) The Four Seasons of Love Series by Catherine Palmer and Gary Chapman...they are really cute, full of funny, small town humor...lots of Christian reference and characters that are similar to lots of my own friends and folks here where I live...the one I am on is the second one (Summer Breeze) and the main character in this one is a Game Warden and his wife who are struggling, a very fitting plot considering my hubby is a game warden here and boy! have we had our share of struggles!  So it is close to "home" and is very sweet...the other characters (from book one, It Happens Every Spring) are starting to pop back into this story and it is funny to see where they have "grown" since the 1st book.

Thought I would mention the series...some of ya'll might enjoy as well.  Have a great 4th!!!

Haven't read the Four Seasons of Love series yet, but they sound like good books. I picked up my first Siri Mitchell book, Kissing Adrien, and it's good so far.

I agree with Chris on the Brad Whittington books.  Read em, loved em.

I loved Flabbergasted by Ray Blackston.  There was a great sequel too, A delirious Summer, I think it's called.  I loved them.  They made me laugh out loud!

The Dearest Dorothy series is hilarious. She is one fiesty chick.

I just finished Dreaming in Black & White by Laura Jensen Walker and it had some funny scenes  - not rolling on the floor LOL but enough to make me chuckle..the character I alternated between liking and wanting to shake though! (chick lit I think but christian chick lit which is a genre I tend to dislike the character a bit for some reason) I'm reading the sequel now - Dreaming in Technicolor. Her book Miss Invisible was funny too I thought but Reconstructing  Natalie is about breast cancer - there's some humor but the overall theme is dealing with breast cancer so not as funny to me but still a good book.

The Bridal Mayhem series was hilarious!  (The Wedding Caper & Gone with the Groom)

I enjoyed the Bridal Mayhem series also. There's a 3rd book, Pushing Up Daisies, that the author (Janice Thompson) wrote under a pen name, Janice Hanna. I got it from PBS and it's on my TBR pile. Looks good too! 

I second the recommendation of "Flabbergasted" by Ray Blackston. Such a good book!

Anyone else have other suggestions? I have ordered the Janice Thompson series and am looking for more kind of like that.

I read Boo by Rene Gutteridge and it was cute ( has 3 after it but haven't gotten those yet)

reading Fiesta Moon by Linda Windsor and it's cute - part of a trilogy..also read It Had to Be You and it was a nice romance with some humorous parts

I just finished Stretch Marks by Kimberly Stuart and Mary Connealy can be funny too.
