10 pages into this book, I was worried that I was going to be disappointed in this book. By the end of the second chapter, I couldn't get enough. To the point where I stayed up until midnight and woke up at 6 to finish the book, barely getting the garbage out in time and risking a tardy for my son.
I think that what turned me off in the beginning is that the main character is really into business, to the point where she doesn't seem human, which is sad, as the finish chapter has her losing her boyfriend, her business and her best friend. By the end of the book, she is human and you've watched her become someone you want to be friends with. Not only that, you realize that she was human in that first chapter, she just hid it from the reader and herself behind business. I love how the main character learns to balance life with business.

Great book! Not quite what I was expecting but still a great read. It made me laugh, cry and it actually shocked me a couple times too. If you like chic lit and are fascinated by death, dying and funerals, I would recommend this book.
Even if you aren't fascinated by the morbid, it's still a great book!

Haven't quite finished it yet, but overall, it's a good read. It takes a while to get used to the bizspeak and some things are just kind of thrown in oddly. Has references to her previous book, but not necessary to read it first, I don't think. I haven't!

I really enjoyed this one. This is a smart chick lit book. If you're business minded, it will be especially interesting. Anyway, the main character Maddy Banks has been an entrepreneur since childhood. She's always looking to make her big mark only to be thwarted by a colleague named Derek. She finally makes her mark with personal non-traditional funeral planning. I like that Maddy is from Ann Arbor, MI (not far from where I grew up) and she has had a lesbian relationship. Not a terribly fluffy novel, but very enjoyable. :)
