None of the humor of Blue Plate Special, the other book I have read in this series, and altogether much darker, this is not a light, cozy mystery. The author explores the horrors of a war now 30 years past and its legacy to the next generation. Not so much a mystery novel (although enough deduction and forensics to qualify) as a novel of character. I could not put it down, but I will not read it again or necessarily recommend it to my friends. It is a "mystery" the way the novels of Elizabeth George are "mysteries."

This is a story about a hard-nosed, fast talking PI at Atlanta's Peachtree Investigations, Sunny Childs ia always capable of cracking a case.
