(Martha's husband) An engaging plot and characters, though it gets pretty deep into metaphysics at times, which makes it a more challenging read than your average fantasy and slows down the action. Also, the mythology remains way beyond what I picked up from an interest back in jr. high. I had to keep referring back to the cast of characters to remember who's who as characters are sometimes referred to by Greek mythology names and other times by their English boarding school names. But if you liked the first in the series, you are likely to get through and (mostly) enjoy this one.

This second installment of the Children of Chaos series continues right where Orphans left off - the kids have been recaptured and are 'mind-wiped' to forget all the progress they had made towards freedom and knowledge of their pasts from the first book. Hmmm...how to go from there? Due to the complexities of this world the author developed, I highly recommend reading this soon after finishing the Orphans (first in series). After the inital retread of the prior book, the action moves quickly and satisfyingly to a suspenseful (book)conclusion while setting up for the final installment.
