This is a good guidebook to the island of Oahu, with a good listing of activities and places to go. I think its weakness is the food section - they recommend some overpriced and overrated places, and pass over some good ones. Also, it's a good list of suggestions for activities, but you should DEFINITELY confirm that the beach or garden or trail or whatever you're visiting still exists with a local -- things change quickly, and sometimes the books don't keep up. A good book to start with, at least.
