All four of the Frog and Toad books are exceptional in every way. The artwork is beautiful (I painted murals based on the illustrations in this book in my baby daughter's bedroom), and the stories have such a wholesome and wise sense of friendship that they are a delight for adult and child readers alike. This may well be your child's first introduction to the 'odd couple cliche/archetype. A favorite book for elementary school teachers around grades 2 and 3. Highly recommended!

I grew up reading the Wind in the Willows books and ordered this immediately while looking for books for my 6 year old daughter. There are several timeless stories in the book and my two younger children just loved them. In fact, I've already ordered more Frog and Toad books for them! The words are the standard level 2, but the stories are a bit long and my daughter sometimes has me take over the last page or two, but we've been reading them so much, she's already getting used to reading the longer passages and has improved her reading ability already with these books. Highly recommend these for anyone with children learning to read!
