A small paperback, but well illustrated and offering a fair amount of information on Ms. Kahlo. It presents her via a 'pictorial autobiography.'
She was bedridden when she taught herself to paint in 1925,positioning "a mirror in the canopy so she could use herself as the subject."
Her last public appearance was 2 July 1954 at a rally to protest CIA activities in Guatemala.
As with a talk a few weeks ago at a branch library in Boyle Heights (Los Angeles), there is no mention of Leon Trotsky. Given that the Putin regime is up to the same actions as Stalin in assassinating troublemakers abroad, that is surprising to me.
sources are in the footnotes, captions on the last pages.
No index, no preface.
