When Free disbanded, due amongst other things to Kossoff’s spiralling heroin addiction, Rodgers and Free drummer Simon Kirke went on to form one of the seventies best-known supergroups – Bad Company. Also featuring Mott The Hoople’s guitarist Mick Ralphs they became one of the biggest attractions of the late seventies - their debut album went to No1 in the US charts and the next five went top five. Steve Rosen’s history with both bands goes back a long way – he once drove Paul Rodgers to an Elvis Presley concert in his Triumph Herald, as well as covering Bad Company's formation in Rolling Stone. Over the years he has interviewed members of Free and Bad Company on many occasions.
