Loved this book and already read the second one "Bluetick Revenge." Sure hope Mr. Cohen has time to write another before too long.

Complex math mixes with murder in this debut mystery. When Colorado math professor Jayne Smyers sends out her fractal geometry paper for critiquing by other experts in the field, she is shocked to discover that three of those experts have died recently. When the FBI deny that any connection among the deaths exists, Smyers hires quirky PI and ex-Marine JAG Pepper Keane to find one.

Absolutely loved it. The protagonist, Pepper Keane is an attorney turned PI who lives almost off the grid outside Denver. He's far from perfect, but he has a tenacious way of picking at problems until he pulls the thread that leads him to answers. He's funny, obnoxious and just a very refreshing lietrary character. Don't let the title put you off, this is a great mystery. The only bummer is that there are only 2 books in this series.
