Interesting book, it's like the cover and the title set out - 4 different histories of reaching consensus on 4 different geophysical theories. He doesn't cut a lot of slack to those who were wrong about the age of the earth, continental drift, and cosmic impact theories (well, he does give some), and he really doesn't discuss climate change skeptics/deniers in the 4th section, but deals more with the nuts and bolts of whether more CO2 absorbs more heat. I learned a lot about the scientific methodology used as well as how scientists may or may not come to a consensus on a theory.
