Something is about to occur that will change your life forever...
...that's what Long Island legal assistant Natalie "Rosie" Rosenstein's sixth sense tells her one summer morning. All her life, she's been getting psychic e-mails-with lousy timing. Why no warning that she'd waste two years after college in an affair with a freeloading Frenchman? Then there's her mother, playing matchmaker day and night. Does Rosie ever spy the next "nice dentist" looming on the horizon? In a word, no. But this time is different. When her usually dedicated boss, Grace, doesn't show up for court, Rosie knows her instincts are right... something's seriously wrong.
Beware of enemies wearing disguises...
...not that Rosie would even know Grace's friends from a hole in the head. Turns out the woman had a secret life that kept her private phone line buzzing. Between her Greek tycoon lover, a competitive colleague, and a client's violently vindictive ex-husband, there are plenty of suspects. And that's where P.I. Mike Bartel comes in. Gorgeous, and a real wisenheimer, Mike's exactly the kind of goy Rosie should avoid. So why is she meeting him after hours to discuss the case? And why does she keep wondering what her mother would say?
The truth sometimes eludes even the most honorable...
Sheesh...so much for looking on the bright side. Suddenly FBI agent are snooping around even as Rosie's psychic hotline is ringing off the hook, and with each day that passes. Rosie's getting closer to Mike-and more worried about Grace. Now, as clue after clue goes bust, she's got to convince someone-anyone-that these tips from beyond are more than so much mishegas. What's a girl to do when her gift of prophecy feels more like a booby prize...?

"Never judge a book by its cover." I should know this by now, but this book stayed on my TBR pile for too long because I thought it was going to be very light and frothy, very chick lit. Turned out to be less chick lit, more mystery. Yes, the main character is 33 with a mother pushing marriage, but the main character isn't focused only on men. She's more interested in finding her missing boss. Rosie's dreams and visions play a large part in the solving of the mystery. I've put the author's next book on my wishlist.
