If you like historical battles, this book is for you! It gives you a feel for what it was really like to be a soldier during the Revolutionary War.

If you are expecting something in the style of Cornwell's Sharpe series, you'll be very disappointed. This novel, while based on an historical event, is full of meaningless, boring dialogue, page after page of it. I got to page 130-something and called it quits, as I couldn't see myself reading another 300 pages of uninspired filler.

A real stinker. Poorly written, characters uninteresting, plot boring to the max. And I love historical fiction (normally). Read Diana Gabaldon and compare! Hers rich with research and detail and you can escape into the period--this one about as boring as they come. I gave it my all though, I finished it.
