I had great hopes for this book. I usually don't read books involving vampires. They are all through this book. The book is a dark story with little relief for the reader. The undead and vampires are the major element of the book, and it isn't very creative. I thought I was never going to get interested in the story, but about 80 pages in it got a little momentum. It never did get up to speed, though. I have the next 2 books in the trilogy and will try to read them, but if it's as uninteresting as this book then I'll give it up and post them unread. A reader shouldn't have to work hard to get into a story. Some of the characters were interesting, but the world not so much.
