The fun and wonderful story of Charmain Carr, Liesl in the 1965 film of 'The Sound of Music.' How she got the role, romances on the set, and many other behind the scenes stories. I loved it.
If you love the movie, The Sound of Music, this book will delight you. Charmian Carr shares many exclusive memories from the making of the movie and the years after that you will probably never hear anywhere else. At times the book seems disjointed, with stories of her mother's childhood and life thrown in and along with other random stories, but all in all it was interesting. There are a few dull spots but it is a quick read (less than 2 days!) with lots of pictures.
This is a beautiful story.
Inspired by mail from thousands of people, "Letters to Liesl" tells the story of the unending impact of the movie, "The Sound of Music". Full of touching stories and humorous insights from Charmian "Liesl" Carr and fans, as well as new reminiscences from Charmian about the making of the film and the recent reunion of all seven 'von Trapp film children' in Salzburg, this book is a beautiful testament to the fact that "The Sound of Music" will live forever in the hearts of millions.
