FOREVER... is the most romantic teen love story ever written!

Katherine and Michael are normal teens who meet in a normal way - at a party! What they have together is so bonding it seems like it will last forever. It's also the most difficult kind of relationship, because they are truly in love.

After meeting and going out a few times, Katherine feels like she is in love. When she and Michael begin getting closer in a sexual way, they both feel as if this could be it.

If I say any more about the plot then I will give away the whole book!

Once I started reading this book I couldn't put it down! It isn't often that you come across such an amazing love story because it is told as if Ms. Blume has really been in this intense of a relationship. FOREVER... is a must read for any older, mature teens due to sexual content.

When I was 11 & in sleepaway camp, we all took turns reading this book. Judy Blume's story of a 17 year old girl being seriously in love and learning about relationships and sex and heartache. Judy Blume touched a lot of us with her realistic, unique, engaging writing that was very outside-the-box when she was originally published.

BTW--To anyone who think this book is a bad influence for teens and that it will promote casual unsafe, sex and turns girls into 'sluts', I am sorry, but you're terribly mistaken--to be polite. Yes one has to be mature to read this but it's not one to ban. If anything, it's educational and eye-opening to any and all young girls these days that receive no sex education at school or at home. It was written in the mid 70s so much of it will seem dated, especially the discussion of VD and no discussion of " Safe Sex". But it still a gem.

I loved Judy Blume\'s writing style even as a kid. These books that she wrote for adults had me just as drawn in. This one is about a love story that is filled with all the wonder of \"the first time\" until they separate that summer. It\'s a very real look at first love and will make you think back to your first love. Couldn\'t put the book down and read it in one sitting.

Outstanding. I first read it when I was 13.....and passed it around at school, where we giggled over the "graphic" items. This book is NOT for Blume's younger readers. It is often "banned", as are many of Blume's books. It did teach me a lot, though, about things like, love, heartbreak, and birth control. I think this book helped me to be more realistic about my first boyfriend, and it taught me to be cautious concerning our activities.

I read this book in a day. I wondered what would happen between Michael and Katherine. This book is a good example, that things aren't always what they seem, and things and feelings do change. I recommend it to any younger girl!!

Awkward, sweet, passionate, innocent, secretive . . .you bet

This is one of the forbidden books of the eight grade that every girl could not wait to get thier hands on. A timeless story of young love, your first time and growing up. I will never forget this book.

This book is written so true about the feelings and pressures of teenage sex and the "idea" of love.

This is coming from a 16 year old girl, this book was awful. It was stupid and I did not like the way teenage relationships were portrayed. I do not recommend this book unless you are still in middle school.

I had ordered this book after reading about it on NPR's book blog. I remember my first book that i EVER read on my own was Freckle Juice by the same author and the review I read was NOTHING like what i could imagine it to be. Ordered it after reading and excerpt which very much represented the book as a whole. was a fun quick read on the beach, but not sure this is something I would give a younger girl to read as it does give a very mixed message to the age group it's targeting about sexuality and the act of sex in general.

Not my favorite Judy Blume book, but still a great read about young love. We've all been there and you really feel for her characters in this one.

This book was good for teenagers but a little graphic at times.. When you read this book u need to have a mature mind. I am 15 and i felt dirty reading this book. But amazingly written.

I still remember surreptitiously passing this book around the 7th grade class. Oh how dog-eared and ratty our copy of 'Forever' became! The book is basically smut for teens, but that is not a bad thing. Better to get your sex knowledge from Judy Blume than from MTV or Playboy. At least this is an honest and fair portrayal of sex and female mind.

This is the best coming-of-age book I have ever read! It is about the loss of innocence and the concept of young love and commitment.

The story of Katherine's and Michael's love is a joyous one, filled with all the wonder of "the first time."
They meet on New Year's Eve and beome completely involved with each other.
It's an idyllic affair-until they're seperated that summer...
Katherine "faces an ancient dilemma: How can you love one person and still be attracted to another?...A convincing account of first love."

Good read for an older adolescent.

"Going all the way" is still a taboo subject in young adult literature. Judy Blume was the first author to write candidly about a sexually active teen, and she's been defending teenagers' rights to read about such subjects ever since. Here, Blume tells a convincing tale of first love--a love that seems strong and true enough to last forever. Katherine loves Michael so much, in fact, that she's willing to lose her virginity to him, and, as the months go by, it gets harder and harder for her to imagine living without him. However, something happens when they are separated for the summer: Katherine begins to have feelings for another guy. What does this mean about her love for Michael? What does this mean about love in general? What does "forever" mean, anyway? As always, Blume writes as if she's never forgotten a moment of what it's like to be a teenager.

Yet again, I've found myself sucked into these teenage novels...LOL. I was intrigued by this book, however it lacked a deep story line. The book was a very quick read, and happened over a few months time. However, I think this book DOES have good meaning behind it on how teenagers 'fall' in love for the first time. And feel that it will be forever, and they seem to forget they have the rest of their lives in front of them. I was rather disappointed with the end, I wanted to now what happened between Kat and Theo :( Oh and it was REAL SHITTY of Micheal to make Kat think he cheated on her the whole time he was in North Carolina. HOW TYPICAL, YOU JERKS!!!!!!!

Soft-core p*rn for adolescents? I remember this book from when I was young. Don't get it unless you want to encourage your teen to sleep around.
