An outstanding omnibus. I had to read it three times. The story spans light-years and millenia, with strong characterization and story development.
I've gone on to read the author's other Sci-Fi books; I haven't read an author this good since Isaac Asimov's The Foundation series. Modesitt makes me think more than any other author I have read.

Good read. It is my introduction to this author. I'll try more of his books.

Very good book. Has all three books of series in it.First part is action filled, second part slows down but is entertaining, and third part tells of last of the heroes life. Overall a great read!
