The final novel of the Cactus Creek series, while fascinating as a historical, falls far short in the romance department. Still, it's heartwarming that the brothers reunited and found their lady loves; a trio of cousins, too! You will find plenty of entertaining adventure within these pages. I was really excited to recognize Verde Valley, AZ, as the setting of this series. The fort mentioned resides in Camp Verde and is now a fascinating museum for history enthusiasts. I may not be enthralled with Greenwood's choppy writing style and even less so with Sybil and Logan's lukewarm romance, but he deserves high marks for breathing renewed life into the historical West. 3 stars.
