Book #7 in the Love at Stake Series. Ms. Sparks never disappoints. I throughly enjoyed Vanda and Phil's story. Each book brings with it more understanding of the core group of vampires. It's great to see how others from the series are faring and getting little tidbits of what may be the next book. I'm still waiting for Connor's story, but have a feeling that the next one may be devoted to Phineas and LaToya. Two Thumbs UP!!

What can I say other than I loved this book? Well, for one thing, Sparks is a great writer. Her books are fast-paced, well-written, and even when they're a wee bit corny, it's corny in a good way that keeps me reading. This story doesn't disappoint in the laugh department or the sexy department. Vanda and Phil make for a fun couple to read about and learning more about why Vanda is as angry as she is. I also love getting the updates on the couples from former books and can't wait for the book when Connor finally hooks up with a mortal. (Okay, so there's no guarantee on that other than my wanting it to happen, but with how he's been so irritated over so many of his buddies marrying mortals, I just want to see the fun romp that story would be!)
I can't say enough good things about this series. It may be considered vampire-lite, but Sparks is definitely one of the best writers of this genre due to her prose. She's yet to make me regret buying one of her books! (What can I say? She's been worth more than a PBS credit to me! ;D)

Loved this book; the best one so far, although I would rate most of her 'Love at Stake' books at least a 4 star. Good amount of action and suspence, great characters, and a lot of new characters. The ending was sweet and actually made me get misty. Two thumbs up.

I liked this story, of Phil and Vanda. I liked the suspense and detail of Phil's and Vanda pasts. I really like that sparks brings in characters from the previous books. I do suggest they are read in order for that reason. The ending on this one had a good surprise and made the ending great.

After three former employees lodge complaints against Nightclub owner Vanda Barkowski, she is sentenced to an anger management class. With no one volunteering to be her sponser, Phil Jones steps forward to take the job. Phil has had feelings for Vanda for years, but couldn't act on them since he was her guard. He knows she is attracted to him, but also knows that she thinks he is a human. How will she react when she finds out he is a werewolf? Will he be able to keep her safe from rogue vampires who want to kill her?
Another great installment in Sparks' Love at Stake series. I've been waiting for Phil's story for a while and wasn't disappointed. If you like your vampire stories light and funny, this is a good series. My rating: 4.5 Stars.

This is a new author for me and I've found her plots and characters to be very interesting and real. It's a really nice twist on the Vampire plots and a nice change from the horror of some writers. It's lighthearted but has enough depth to keep me coming back for more. I haven't been reading them in order and have found it's not hard to get into the story. I'm going to keep them so that I can read them in order once I'm up to date!

In the 7th book of the Love at Stake series, we are learning more about the day-guards, Phil in particular. Turns out he's an "alpha" of his breed with some unique powers & abilities. He and Vanda, who has a deep seeded hatred of wolves, were attracted to one another while she lived in Roman's home; she teasing him; he refusing her lures. Phil volunteers to sponsor Vanda to help control her anger issues; still hunting down Casimir, Vanda volunteers to be the bait, which Phil really hates; Robby is captured and tortured by the mal-contents; Vando puts her hatred of wolves behind her to teleport wovles to save him. This is a really good story about characters we've seen in many of the earlier books. Really enjoying the way Sparks continues to introduce new characters that blend in so smoothly with the existing ones. A great read in this very stimulating series.

Vanda Barkowski is in trouble.
As the owner of a hot nightclub, she's more unconventional than most of her fellow vampires, and if some think her a little out of control, then so be it. But after three former employees filed a complaint about her temper, Vanda is sentenced to an anger management class. Worse, Phil Jones agreed to be her sponsor. Phil, the mortal who is forbidden to her . . .
If Vanda knew whoor whatPhil really is, she'd reconsider her attraction to him, for his true nature is wilder than anything she'd ever imagined. He has tackled the beast within and now is the perfect person to help Vanda with her rage . . . if only he can keep his cool when she makes him so undeniably hot. But with rogue vamps on the loose, will they ever have their forbidden nights?
