Etienne Martel, the magnificently virile Duc de Vec, meets Daisy Black, an Absarokee lawyer from Montana, in 1890's Paris. They meet, they fight, they fall in love. But his wife won't let him go.
I usually enjoy Susan Johnson, but the middle 1/3 of this book is all about the Duc trying to get a divorce, & how nasty his wife is - a real downer.

Not her best book. The first two of this series were fast-paced, sexy and historically interesting. I think this one lacked all three.
