Better than I thought it would be. The multiple characters were fleshed out well and really kept the story going.

Very good apocalyptic fiction. If you liked "Lucifer's Hammer" then you should enjoy this also.

Pretty decent dinosaur premise, with a rather convoluted theory accounting for the "time quilt" that brought the dinos to the present day. A quick and easy read, there are threads left hanging for the eventual sequel.

"Footprints of Thunder" is based on a really original...and imaginative... precept. Atomic tests of the sixties result is big trouble now.
I did find the characters to be a bit unbelievable and the action was sometimes not very realistic. As with so mant thrillers, dumb luck and unusual juxtapositions are a main factor in the good guys winning(more or less).
In spite of the shortcomings, James David has produced a pretty good and entertaining read which departs from the sometimes boring norm for thrillers.
The open ending leaves lots of room for the sequal but I'm not sure I really want to read it right now.
I do, however, plan to read some more of David's work, if for no other reason than his refreshing departure from the thriller norm.

One of my all-time favorite books. Really draws the reader in with multiple characters, a true "ensemble" novel. Interesting concept, patching time together in present-day and ancient times, patchwork in a "time quilt" scenario.
