For the emotional dieter, the yo-yo dieter, or the overeater, this is the worst possible book you could read. It totally depresses you.

Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Wasn't as good, either. However, my thoughts on my own weight fluctuations are that if people don't like how I look, they damn sure don't have to look at me...I have a hard time reconciling this societal need to use "addictions" as anything other than personal choices we as individuals choose to make. I like to eat, I eat -I don't like to exercise, I don't do it much. Therefore, at times in my life, I will be overweight.
Rotfl...I am probably the only member on PBS who will make the review section all about me....lol
Ahhhh, well. Read the book!

Excellent book detailing an often overlooked eating disorder. However, Lerner doesn't seem to really reveal and/or discover what was behind her problem.

An interesting account of one girl's experiences with eating disorders. It was entertaining. Would be a good book club read.
disappointing if you want to learn about food and how people think about food as a society. It is merely a memoir and a whiny one at that. ALthough I do agree that her shrink should be dis-whatever they do to undo a shrink.
