One foggy day on the old Post Road, Greta notices the outline of a house where no house has been for a hundred years. Then she spies a horsedrawn carriage carrying a woman in a plum-colored dress. This is one of my all-time favorite children's books. It's a must read for any child who loves time travel adventures. I love this book so much I have a copy for myself, I got one for my mom, a couple for nieces, and pick up every copy I find to pass along to those who haven't discovered it yet.

I was disappointed in this book only because i had misunderstood the genre. Actually it was a sweet little story with a message, meant for a much younger reader.
