CSI: MIAMI FLORIDA GETAWAY by Max Allan Collins: Thomas Lessor left Las Vegas for Miami to get away from it all, including a charge of murder. Gil Grissom calls his counterpart in Miami, Lieutenant Horatio Caine, to assist in the return of Lessor to Las Vegas. Before Caine can make the connection, someone else connects with Lessor who disappears. Hot on his trail, the Miami CSIs are called to the scene of an abandoned limousine with a body in the truck. Its not Lessor, but his corpse soon shows up. From there on its sorting out the bad guys from the worse guys, and surprise, surprise, CSI prevails.
Terrific!
I enjoyed this, finished it in a couple days...if you like the TV show, then definitely grab this and read.
Excellent read and could not put it down
Another great CSI book. If you love the series you will love this book!
Great book! A lot more cussing than in the TV show.... :-)
This was my first CSI: MIAMI serialized novel, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I have to say that Max Allan Collins, the author who writes the majority of all CSI titles, seems to have a better understanding of Horatio Caine than of Gil Grissom. The character descriptions were much better than some of those I've read in the regular CSI novels.
FLORIDA GETAWAY has a case that starts in Las Vegas with the regular CSI team and then spreads to Miami and Horatio's team. It's a well-developed case and a pretty darn good plot. Definitely recommended for CSI and CSI: MIAMI fans!

Thomas Lessor left Las Vegas for Miami to get away from it all--in fact, he felt certain he was going to get away with murder. But he was wrong, and the Las Vegas PD soon contacted Miami with a warrant for his arrest. Hot on his trail, the Miami CSIs are called to the scene of his abandoned car...a car that's been abandoned in spirit but not in body. And on a pleasant and secluded Miami beach, a young couple is about to make a gruesome discovery....
I like CSI: Miami and that is why I bought this book. It involves some reaction between the CSIs in Law Vegas and in Miami but concentrates on the Miami crew. I would say that it is a decent book, entertaining if you like the show, you should enjoy this book.
This is the description on the back of the book:
Lieutenant Horatio Caine leads a crack team of forensic scientists who investigate crimes amid the tropical surroundings and cultural crossroads of Miami. Together, they collect and analyze the evidence to expose the truth and to bring justice to those who often cannot speak for themselves: the victims. A read to get you out of your own head, and into some of your favorite characters on the CSI Miami show. Pretty well written; you can visualize the characters (of course, you know what they look like!)
Read it in a couple of sittings.
